Small stuffed kitty toys are generally a hit with kittens. "Bizzy balls" (little balls with bells inside) are another good one for smaller kittens. They will entertain themselves for hours when they discover that batting them makes them roll. A self initiated game of chase!

When they get a bit bigger you might want to get them a weazel ball. This is hit or miss. Some cats love to play with them and others are indifferent to them. They are only about $10 so how can you go wrong?
