Silly Pickles- what a thought
When Ray dropped us off (hopeless parking- you needed to book space with the ticket) he said have fun and behave. I said I'd look after Sue and make sure she came back with her knickers Ray misses jokes sometimes and he didn't say anything.
Later we called to get picked up (he was nearby at their daughters) he asked what we were going to do with our knickers? Since Sue is deaf she missed my comment and pointed out to him we are 'grown-up' now and we didn't throw knickers on the stage any more. He was horrified- He thought we had intended to- silly man.
We had a great time thank you. The seats were ideal because we were about 3 rows back and slightly off centre so we could stand and dance and not get caught in the crush of those who came out of their seats to push up to the stage. They spoilt it a bit for those who had paid full wack for very front row- and security made them go and sit down again and even David didn't encourage them when they tried to get to touch him, he would play up and rub his back telling them he was too old to bend down to them and then wave madly at fans in the circle (upstairs).
He sang all my favourites including Rock On, thankyou LTraz Lamplight and Silverdream Machine. The last song was new to me but from a later album I haven't got, Sue said it could say so much and left us teary. It was simply about not worrying that when someone was out of sight they were still there in your mind and heart, and when you remembered them they would be there even when the stars came out and you couldn't see them in the dark or in the brightness of another day.
Sue said it would have been a good anthem to remember someone and we both thought of Christine (although obviously we should have been thinking of the end of the concert and David saying good-night).
He has a house locally haven't found out where and he said 'See you all in Bournemouth soon!'
He will be back!
I'm glad you know who I'm talking about too. He is cheeky as ever
