The gritter went past our house at 4am. how do I know? The noise!
I haven't slept properly again for over a week.
Heard No1 son leave the house at 7am so I looked out oof the window to watch him leave, only to see or rather not see the car, because it was under a thick blanket of snow.
It was a sod of a day! Really busy in the shop which was compounded by the fact Dee phoned to say she couldn't get in (2 miles away). I reminded her she had feet, but she said she didn't like the idea of walking in. The boss worried the locum couldn't get in, who lives in The Stix, 20 miles out of town. He arrived half an hour late. Not pleased to hear Dee hadn't arrived.
Then the weight of the ice on the balcony over the shop had blocked the drain so as the snow thawed, it came through the electric lighting in the front of the shops facia and waterfalled onto the floor in the window and the door. A customer (bless) took a bucket and mop and mopped while we did his prescription.
