A friend who lives 'out in the stixs' told us about a young neighbour who has a small jeep 4x4 and although she is used to the lane when she reached the bottom of the hill she didn't quite make it on the corner and ended up in the hedge. All the village men went down to help her out. As they were working another man stood at the top of the hill to turn any traffic away. This 'city-toff' down on a weekend break arrived in his brand new Range Rover and told him. 'This is a 4x4, it can go anywhere, out of my way'
After wetting themselves laughing and eventually getting the jeep out of the hedge, they went and got spades to get the Ranger Rover and 'toff' out of the village pond....which is the other side of the hedge.
