Yeah, He's quite a bit overweight. Do you have him on a diet right now to try to slim down? If he needs surgery it's really hard on an overweight pet.
He's gorgeous though! I love bulldogs and 'bully' breeds.
If he's lame and then fine and then lame again, he's probably torn the ACL and has done it some time ago. Frankly, the anti-inflammatories don't do squat once it's torn or even damaged a little. Lesson learned twice with Daisy.
Did your vet even test the leg if it's the ligament? He should stabilize the leg with his hand in front of the knee and then with his other hand push it forward from behind. If the knee moves or clicks, it's damaged and no amount of medicine will repair it.
