I only give them the little boxed cat milk, the house cats are addicted to catsip.
One of our cats a few years back had diabetes later in her life, among other problems, and I had to give her shots every 12 hours for the last year or two she was with us.
Since this has turned into a cat thread. I have one, she's been around for probably over 12 years now. She is just here, just so happy to have food, so happy to have attention, so happy to get into the basement every winter. She's never been to the vet, never been sick, never had a kitten. She is a true stray. She is even pretty coy around us, sometimes I can pet her, sometimes not, sometimes I can even pick her up.
When she was younger there were summers where we would not see her for 2 to 3 months, then she would show back up, skinny and hungry, but as she has gotten older she has become a steady resident.
This is Patch:
She looks pretty scruffy in this picture, she has that long hair and it gets matted and full of burrs in the summer, fall, and winter, then every spring she molts and leaves big clumps of fur around, usually enough to make another cat or two. Then it all grow back in nice and soft and clean over the summer. Right now she is looking pretty normal again, and she is staying out of the burrs and sticker bushes.
