The little bastard will come right over to us, he is looking for food or milk. There is always dry food out for them but he gets the good stuff and he knows it. But when I put a hand out he gets jumpy. He has come right over and sniffed my hand, but jumps if I touch him. I keep lightly grabbing his tail, that doesn't seem to make him to nervous. I'm pretty sure I could catch him, but I don't want to traumatize him and getting a vet appointment for the time of the attempted catch would be tricky.
He's just got to give in and be one of the gang so I can make an appointment and keep it.
Also, I've taken truly wild cats into the vet, I get everyone prepared for the beast that is coming out of the cage to rip us all to shreds and leave us bleeding and crying for our mommies, and they all turn into great big pussies, purring, cuddling the vet, sometimes the viscious ones make me ashamed of them.
Tuxedo J. Pussycat was a stray that was a scardy cat, it took all of about two days to coax him out of the shadows and he was in my arms purring and loving it. Now you would never guess that he was ever afraid of us. I always wonder though, if any of these strays would ever let anyone else get near to them or not.
