After revisiting the thread I previously posted about being Pennsylvanian,
http://www.twitchinkitten.com/thread-461.html

I decided to be a bit more specific and bring a bit of Schuylkill county to the table.

You're a Skook (Schuylkill (school kill) county resident) if you know:

What 462 da fuck is. For you non-Skooks it's merely a form of punctuation as well as an affirmation of address for those who live in Shenandoah (pronounced chen doah, shen dough or shenna dough)
Example: "Yeah, I live in Shendough, ya know, 462 da fuck!"

Not to be confused with "Da Heights da fuck" which refers to Shenandoah Heights.

462 is the telephone exchange for that town.

When you hear someone talk about or order a "premium" or "lager" they need not mention Yuengling (beer).

Sheetz is not only a convenience store but the primary place to meet, greet and hang out at.

MTO refers to Sheetz's food. (Made To Order). Example: "Wanna get some MTO?"

The relative direction of any point from where you are is referred to as:
"Up through or up the line"......North
"Down through"......South
"Out through"......East
"Over through"......West

Dutchies (those of PA dutch but not Amish heritage) live either in the Hegins or Williams valleys or in the Pine Grove and Tremont areas.

Hunkys are those of slavic heritage.

Heckshersville is a primarily Irish heritage town and hosts a huge Irish festival every June.

P H (Pottsville Hospital) and Good Sam (Good Samaritan) are the 2 hospitals in the county and even though they have merged and been renamed Schuylkill Med Center east and west (which pissed you off) you still refer to them by their former names.

The A hole is not a derogatory term but refers to an abandoned strip mining pit between Shenandoah and Mahanoy City and is a favorite site for folks to drink and party at.

Learning to drive in the rural areas of the county starts at 12 years old running junk cars/trucks or farm equipment through the fields and on back roads.

Abandoned strip mine pits that are filled with water are the best swimming holes.

There are only 2 kinds of pickup trucks.....Fords and Chevys (Old Jeep pickups are getting scarce). The weird people drive Dodges and all the other brands aren't real trucks.

"Ya fuck ya" can be either a term of endearment ("Hey ya fuck ya, howzit goin'?") or disdain ("What the fuck ya doin'? Ya fuck ya!") depending on the tone of voice.
