LOADS of really good info on all kinds of hamsters on that site.
It's funny, these lovely little pets have been touted as great 'starter' pets for children for ages but in reality, they are better suited for adults due to their small size, nocturnal life and their propensity to bite if mishandled. Dwarf hamsters are even more prone to bite if you freak them out and they are way too swift for a child to handle in my opinion.
Damn-spaz much?
You knew what I was talking aboutwhen I said Teddy Bear.
My daughter is 14 so I am pretty confident in her abilities to care for a hamster. What age in your expert opinion is old enough to appropriately handle a rodent? Just wondering.
We also have a dog and have had two others. No we do not let the dog play with the hamster in case that was your next bitch.
She has plenty of experience with pets and is very compassionate. She earns the money herself for bedding, food, toys etc. She freshens the cage daily and cleans it out weekly.
