FYI - I called him with your idea on the pump and he likes it. We can set up a permanent set up like that until we figure a way to get a sump system in there. What sucks is that where we would have to break the floor is where the footing is for the center beam on the foundation. Then we have to lay a row of cement to make an "aqueduct" of sorts so the water goes into the hole and not spread. French drains are not an option. We're afraid to try that if we could anyway! With our luck, the foundation will crumble and the house will fall on us!
