Maybe I went a bit over the top but I am sick of defending pro wrestling from people who don't think wrestling fans "get it", we do, I was sure and certain in the knowledge that pro wrestling was pre-planned and staged from about the age of eight but I still loved/love it.
When I was kid I was always a fan of the heels (bad guys) like Rollerball Rocco and my favourite of all time Kendo Nagasaki. I watched Kendo Nagasaki knock an audience member out for real at Butlins in Skegness in 1982, the guy was drunk and kept trying to grab Kendo's leg through the ropes. Kendo stopped and glared at him a few times (Kendo NEVER spoke a word in public), finally he jumped and punched the guy right in the face and he slumped to the ground.
As far as pro wrestling goes I think wrestler Jeff Jarrett sums it up nicely "Those that understand it need no explanation, to those that don't understand it no explanation is good enough".
