0 What the everlovin'fuck? Remember when bands had complimentary bands performing before the main show? How the hell do you warm up to a Rockabilly night of Setzer with this shit coming up first?

0 WTF WAS THAT? There's owning it and then there is hacking it beyond recognition and THAT was certainly the latter.

0 Indeed.
But really, what ever happened to complimenting bands? The first band is supposed to wind you up for the main act, not want to make you put an ice pick through your ears.

0 I think it may be a matter of availability.
When the local agencies offer up the acts available for the dates it comes down to who is not booked more than what type of act it is. An 80's cover band or classic rock band would have been the more appropriate. The band Matt is getting involved in would have been good too but you want to try not to get an opener TOO close to what the headliner plays. This avoids possible surprises if the opener is TOO GOOD. This happened (kinda) years ago in Hershey. Bad Company headlined and their opener was Brother Cain. Even though Brother Cain was technically a southern fried band they blew Bad Company out of the water by both technical excellence and audience response. VERY high energy performance. Bad Company seemed like a letdown in comparison.

0 This isn't coming from a local agency, Rick, they're traveling with The Brian Setzer Orchestra. One of the first times that I don't mind if we miss the opening act.

0 Setzer was awesome last night. Sadly every damn photo we took was so washed out with light. We were center front row of the Loge and the spotlight was directly in our path flashing on all the shiny things. Total wash out on film
Matt had a nice chat with the bass player in the vestibule. Chatted about strings. His free upright bass has become quite the costly project. He's now going to see about investing in gut strings.

0 That beetroot cover was horrible, I had to turn the sound off.
I would go see Setzer again any time. Some year I would like to catch the Christmas show.
Your signatures annoy me.

Yeah, he took a mid point break and dragged out the stand up drum kit and did a few straight up, no Christmas carols rockabilly songs too. I had a bunch of zombies behind me who got annoyed if I stood up. How can you sit stock still at a rockabilly show?
