We woke up to this guy in the yard, and then snatched him for a bit of petting and to help him get out of a window well that he jumped into lol. After we let him go we followed him with the camera some more, and learned that we have a whole family living in one of our plants! There are 4 young in the pictures, 3 in a pile and 1 solo. One of the ones in the pile is the one that had been out in the yard before. First 2 images are a little blurry since I was inside the house snapping through a window.

Again, MAKE SURE YOU VIEW FULL SIZE! Wink

This one you can clearly see that there are 3 piled together here because you have an eye, then above and to the right you have an ear going another direction, and then above and to the left another ear going in yet another direction. I didn't know there were 3 until I startled one of them into moving since I could only see 2 easily through the leaves.

And of course, then there was the smaller one off by himself.

I've added these to my Deviant-Art account's wildlife gallery. You can get more details on each pic there. You can also order prints, and see other photographs of wildlife. Of course, my deviant-art has other sections that you may feel free to browse as well Wink

Careful with the babies! Wild rabbits often will kill babies that have been touched by humans. I'm surprised it let you hold it and pet it! They run from people around here. Watch your garden! They ate all my cukes last year.

Very cute though. I have two ground hogs I'd love to get rid of. Damn thing isn't going to make it into it's escape one of these days and Daisy is going to shred the thing. Fucker is brazen too. I see him all over the neighborhood in broad daylight eating everyone's flowers.

They are cute little shits.

My rabbits, woodchucks, and raccoons sample my garden from time to time along with the deer.
Meh, I don't usually get that excited about it.

There ended up being six that we've counted so far. And one is definitely a runt. But we haven't seen a single adult. We're going to try and donate them to a nature preserve that we have locally since we already have the neighbor's dog trying to eat them (four more ended up trapped in Window Wells and I had to rescue them while the dog was trying to eat them after slipping her chain), not to mention our own dogs if the rabits were inside their chain radius when they're out.

The parents probably abandoned them before you found them unless you didn't notice them while you discovered them and they saw you and freaked out.

I hope the reserve takes them. Rabbits are common and sometimes are refused. Look up Popcorn Park Zoo here in Forked River, NJ. See if you have something like that if you get stuck.

Well, sadly the neighbor's dog did end up getting one of them already after we had gone inside. They aren't very good at keeping their dog in their own yard, which pisses me off. I hate bad pet owners.

I hope you bitched like hell to your neighbor about this. Why are they leaving the dog chained and unattended? Fucking assholes.

When they're outside with the dog they let it run free w/out a chain at all. And I did say something, to which she pretty much said she didn't care and they would probably all end up dead.

It no longer matters though. They're gone. The adults came and removed them last night. Which is good since the nature center wouldn't take them. We buried the dead one in the kids' pet graveyard next to the garage and that was that.

Cute little baby bunnies.

Glad to hear mama came and relocated her brood to a different warren.
