We had a cat that did that to us twice. I was still married and the first time I was still in NYC. Puss disappears for three weeks. We lived about 100 feet in from an 8 lane throughway and I thought he was gone for good. One night at around 3 AM I hear something scratching on the window screen and meowing with urgency. Second floor window. I get up and open the window, open the screen enough to reach in and snag him by the scruff. SOB was skin and bones and filthy. Like Angus, he must have gotten himself stuck somewhere.
The second time was after we moved to Jersey. Puss hadn't been home for two days. I figured the owl got him or a fox or something. He comes home across the field, slowly and looking bad. His tail had no skin or fur on it. Poor thing must have gotten rolled by a a vehicle. We took him to the vet and his tail was lopped off and one vertebra off his spine. Doc wasn't sure if we'd have to help him poop. I told him if that was the case to just let him stay asleep on the table. Puss lived until he was 18. Doc was a miracle maker on more than one occasion for us. I miss that vet. He died last year of a brain tumor.
Give the little nerve-wracker a scruff on the head for me.

I have no idea what you're talking about so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head
