OH

MY

GOD

That guy is insane.

I'm laughing my ass off at your story. I dont' think you'd get me down that hill even when I was younger and not full of metal. No. Sorry. No. I tried regular skiing and decided then that I'd rather be on a runaway horse instead. At least I can steer him out of trees and rocks and traffic! You lose control on an inanimate object you are shit out of luck and go where the fall takes you!

Mud - I hate mud. I lost so many shoes in my barnyard on those muddy springs that left me with 18" of mud in the pens. I sympathize with your plight.

Are there disk brakes on that bike or were they pull brakes? I seriously don't think I'd ever try that (if I were insane) without disk brakes, especially knowing how sweet they are now that I have them on my bike.

And no - nothing is ever easy with me. Something always has to be special made, rigged up or whatever. But I do have a question. What's the point of a locking hitch pin when it's so easy to un-pin the whole rack off the front of the extension that goes to the receiver anyway? I will need two locking pins.

The guy in that video has a dummy on the bike.

My old bike only has the old style "V" brakes, yeah disk brakes would probably be nice.

I would have to see your set up for that hitch to understand it better. Mine was not a problem when I got it.

My wrist is kinda sore today.

I barely used my camera, I took it to the top once, but it was in my back pocket the whole way down, I was mostly hanging on for dear life and schleping through mud.

However, I may have solved they bra in the tree mystery though, there were more but I could not get any decent shots of them on the way up.

OK When Matt gets home I'll get pics of the set up so you can understand it better. But if you want to in the meantime, look up Class 4 hitches - they're thick. Receiver is a good 3 inches across or better and the whole carrier is designed for a class 1 hitch - basically a light car.

It comes with a split sleeve to 'up it' to a class two, with a 2 inch receiver. But the problem is the holes are too small for the pins. I can't rig it "for now" so I gotta get it drilled. Matt wants to drill it out but I think let the hitch guy do it with the drill press and get a nice even hole.

I'm just glad it's not a solid hunk of metal like my extension. Drilling that shit would suck. But, you'll see in the pics when I put them up.

Should we split up this thread to pull the tech talk out and clean it up for it's original content of rides only? Your thread Twist - your call.

OK so what's the mystery solution for the bras? How did the woods get decorated with them? Did someone build a Victoria's Secret there and some eco terrorist blow up the store? Giggle

Uh...I thought I replied to this.
Anyway....it's your board Twitch, split it if you want.

The tree bra mystery must be because people are checking for loose clothing.

Oh yeah, did a 10 mile loop this morning, I rode my mountain bike to make it harder.

No1 son has his bike fixed..........only he was going to ride over to Karen's for breakfast (after she had been to the gym).

He overslept, she over slept. She wanted a lift to the gym, he had no petrol in the car. By the time they finished fighting with text, she walked to the cafe and he went on his motorbike. They were in time for lunch.
