LK, you should get in the habit of calling ahead of time on runs like this to make sure the trailer is already loaded before you get there. Make up some like about a tight schedule. At the very least, you'll have them in the process of loading when you get there (hopefully).

Nice thought but there's nobody on the egg dock after 11PM until the super comes in at 6AM. If 2nd shift didn't do it I'm stuck waiting. The earliest any loading would start would be 6:30 so it really makes no difference. I would like to get rolling from the plant on one of these at 4:30 but........

I DID get lucky today and it was loaded when I got there. I rolled 7's when I called my count and weights in because they didn't hand me some stupid "oh by the way..." load!

I take it you have a private fleet trucking operation?

No not a fleet trucking company, what it is is a bio mass type production facility, we have an in house trucking company(one of the owners also owns the trucking) which makes for some interesting conversations.

The poor SOB is in a real conflict of interest and is to stupid to know it, he tries to make decision for both companies which is an automatic screw up.

Actually an in-house trucking company and private fleet are one in the same, just different terminology

That's how our company is set up too except that the truck division is relegated to it's own management as opposed to corporate or plant management making the decisions.
