This is our trip to Denmark on a Saab Tour, with Philip rummaging for biscuits in the roof box (the one and only time we used it) and Dolly using our car to keep cool (the dog)

0 LOL! Yes, the catch was playing up so Mark needed someone who was small enough to climb inside, close it, fix it with a torch and screw driver.
0 Today I did an hour at work then went down to the workshop where our car is nearly finished. We had to put the back door on and put in the new glass today. The offside wing still needs some work on it but Mark can put the grille back on tomorrow. Saturday it should be road legal to come home!
Then for the interior to get fixed. I have never been so dusty in my life! How do those fitters work in that fine film all the time amazes me. 4 hours and I was dying for a bath and hair wash. Mark had said it was slow work because to save money he is putting some of it back together himself. Of course it can't stay in the spray shop for ever and because Derek likes Saabs he has been really good keeping the garage owner off our back. So I took time off to help get some of the rubbers back on for the glass. Also one of the back door arms broke when it was being dismantled and the spring was still inside the wing. The hole for the electrics is visible because the interior is off and the spring could be just seen laying horizontal but jammed into the wings fin. As it turns out my hands are small and they fitted just snug in the wing, with string and wriggling I got it upright and pulled it out of the armiture hole. Spent alot of time feeding electrics back into these holes too. I guess I could start a new career The owner made us all a cup of coffee (not many bosses do that!) but was surprised to see me laying the back of the car with my hand missing in the wing. It turns out he likes our car and remembers Derek doing our friends car (bright orange). When he went back to his office Derek said we got a really good deal because the boss likes to see cars owned by ordinary people and they have become apart of the family. He, it turns out has the sprayshop as a 'hobby'. He wanted his Beetle repaired and couldn't find a good enough garage. So he opened his own, employed Derek and Dale to work on his cars. Isn't is nice to be in a postion in life at 30 years old and just open a garage for some fun!

0 This is the day before we brought the car home. We put the windows and the back door back in. The windows were easier than I thought they would be! Now the trim has to go back on............
