NORTHAMPTON (FOX 25/MyFoxBoston.com) - Nine teens have been charged in the "unrelenting" bullying of a teenage girl from Ireland who killed herself after being raped and enduring months of torment by classmates in person and online, a prosecutor said Monday.
Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel said 15-year-old Phoebe Prince of South Hadley was stalked and harassed nearly constantly from September until she killed herself Jan. 14. The freshman had recently moved to western Massachusetts from Ireland.

"The investigation revealed relentless activities directed toward Phoebe to make it impossible for her to stay at school. The bullying for her was intolerable," Scheibel said.
Six teens — four girls and two boys — face charges including statutory rape, assault, violation of civil rights resulting in injury, criminal harassment, disturbance of a school assembly and stalking. Here's the story from a British news source. They explain that Phoebe had caught the eye of a popular senior boy and the other girls were psycho jealous about it:

Phoebe Prince faced an 'unrelenting' bullying campaign from fellow pupils after she started school in the Massachusetts town of South Hadley last year.
The teenager, who had emigrated to the U.S. from County Clare with her mother and three sisters, was stalked and harassed from September until she killed herself on January 14.
Pheobe was found hanging by her younger sister in a stairwell at the family home. She was still wearing her school clothes.
The 15-year-old was allegedly targeted by a group known as the 'Mean Girls' after she started dating a popular senior football player at her school.
Pupils said Phoebe was called 'Irish slut' and 'whore' on Twitter, Craigslist, Facebook and Formspring.
Her books were knocked out of her hands, items were flung at her, her face was scribbled out of photographs on the school walls, and threatening text messages were sent to her cell phone
The nine teenagers blamed for her death - seven girls and two boys - have been charged with criminal harassment, violation of civil rights and disturbing a school assembly.
The two boys, aged 17 and 18, also face charges of statutory rape - having sex with someone under the age of consent.
Announcing the charges, prosecutor Elizabeth Scheibel said: 'Their conduct far exceeded the limits of normal teenage relationship-related quarrels.
'The investigation revealed relentless activities directed towards Phoebe to make it impossible for her to stay at school. The bullying for her was intolerable.
'The actions of these students were primarily conducted on school grounds during school hours and while school was in session.'
Mrs Scheibel revealed the Phoebe had suffered a 'tortuous' day when she decided to take her own life.

She more than caught the eye. She dated him and that is what started the bullying.
Kids are cruel. We used to see that shit all the time back "in the olden days" when we were in school but not to this level.
What about her parents? Did they not have any communication with her? Why would they even keep her in that school if it was happening? Did she tell them at all?
There are a lot of stories with details on this out there. It's sad really. She came here for a better life and jealousy and pettiness is all she found.

I dare say that these little psycho freaks missed out on the part where they are supposed to know right from wrong. Oh yeah......their parents weren't ALLOWED to instill these values because they live in fear of some PC snothead turning them in for "child abuse" if they correct their children.
The degradation of society continues.
