Local gossip - CrackAttack - 03-25-2010
I love gossip. I can't help it. I know it's a sin, but I still enjoy hearing it. Unless, of course, it is about me. Then I just think it's bullshit.
My local area is a breeding ground for gossip. I decided I would share some since I don't know any of you and none of you know who I am gossiping about.
The closest metropolitan news just aired an investigative report regarding a small town mayor that owns a pawn shop who "inspired" the police chief to buy all their weapons and gear from the pawn shop without getting outside bids. The sheriff "resigned" about a month ago amid wild speculation. When the local chat board got ahold of the news story, it comes out that the sheriff left his wife and was living with another deputy. The other woman, stupid as can be, gets on the local chat board and ADMITS the affair. It is times like these I wish I was a divorce attorney. Most times I abhor them, but I bet they hear good shit.
On the same board, I was PMing with a lady when she received a PM of a girl's taco (her word). The girl sent it to her by accident because her husband hand PM'd her and the other girl a joke and that was the reply. The lady was super pissed. They didn't get divorced, even though he is a pig, because they have a son. That makes me sad.
Oh, and my boss is a dick. Just had to say that. He got caught humping a coworker of mine by a janitor. The janitor got a better position at another facility and the coworker didn't. She got screwed twice (and her husband left her soon after because he was cheating).

Not much goes on around here that is considered small town gossip. But, a few years ago our governor resigned in the middle of his term because he was gay. He was under threat of being bribed by an intern of his for having an affair with him so he resigned for it and openly admitted he's a Gay American. Like it's a race or other ethnicity!
Turns out his wife was having an affair with one of the state troopers who used to do security detail for them and during the divorce, she was demanding lifetime use of the Governors mansion and state helicopter and full security detail.
This is the famous Jim McGreevy in NJ.
So Jon Corzine takes over, shuts the state down in a fit because he didn't have enough money to spend and wanted to raise the sales tax. He won that battle. Raised taxes by 17% for us across the board and then again instilled an 800% tax increase over the next ten years to fix the roads.
Corzine and many others are as crooked as they come.
New Governor Chris Christie takes office in January '10 and finds ALL the money taken in from new taxes is nowhere to be found and the state is bankrupt.

A woman that claimed sexual harassment in my building got moved to another, but apparently still carries a grudge because she reported that one of the guys, who drives a commuter van, tried to drive her off the road on the way to work and all the guys on the van ended up going to the office in charge of this shit for an investigation. NONE of the guys said it happened, and most of them weren't even involved in this woman's sexual harassment case, so they're impartial observers. Kind of makes you wonder how accurate her claims of harassment were, don't it.
I heard a short time ago that a mechanic I thought was sort of attractive was fired over a year ago (I'm not very observant, I knew I hadn't seen him for a while but I didn't really think about it) for heavy drug use. They actually went to court over this, and for some odd reason the guy admitted on the stand that he'd rather stay home and do drugs. He was early 50s and still had kids at home! Who the hell would give up a $25+ an hour job to do that? How could you afford to do that?

I heard about your gay governor. The tax hike is SHOCKING. Is that sales tax or property tax? Where I live it takes a full year or two to get one section of Interstate repaired because of the traffic. Your traffic will be jacked up for years.
How do you hide state money? I think you have to be pretty smart nowadays to be a crook.

Some dude probably didn't leave his wife for her like he said. Is she hot? I think that is relevant in this case.
He will get disability. He can sit home doped up and get paid. People in pain can't get disability, but frying your brain with drugs is almost a sure way to get SSDI.
I think you might have bad taste in men. A horny, drugged up mechanic wouldn't be my first choice. Unless he was hot. That is relevant in this case, too.

I am not an economist, but if you raise state income tax 17%, and sales tax 17%, and other taxes by 17%, you are losing a hell of a lot of your income. More than 17%. You folks are state employees no matter what you do for a living.
That's messed up. Have you ever thought about moving or are you rooted where you are?

We were all ready to sell the house and move then the end of 09 gave us a crash in the economy and housing market. A new president hell bent on bankrupting the whole country on top of it all set our plans back quite a bit. The finances got very tight around here and we've found out that there are no jobs where we want to go where Matt can make any kind of living, never mind getting hired at the moment.
We want to move to Florida. We just have to wait for now.
