Frenchies! - Twitchin Kitten - 03-14-2010 I want a French Bulldog. I want one in the worst way. I don't know if I can have one after Goliath passes away but I do know I can't have one now with the two dogs. Not enough room and Daisy is a jealous bitch. Poor Goliath already is suffering her jealous rages, just think of what a couple of shakes would do to a tiny Frenchie. I did find a breeder locally though. I know, I'm only tormenting myself. http://foreveryoungfrenchbulldogs.com/ Look at the little blue puppy sleeping with his little duckie. I just want to pick him up and give him kisses all over. RE: Frenchies! - Twilla - 03-14-2010 They're all beautiful but I really like the little white one at the bottom of the page. I'd post the photo but the warning about stealing the photos scared me. RE: Frenchies! - Twitchin Kitten - 03-14-2010 Matt likes that one too. I'm sure I can't afford one. The sables, blues and creams are $4000. and the normal colors range from $1500 - $2500 + per dog. They all look well bred and the hips look good on the ones standing square. They've got a nice topline which says good back end and their eyes are nice where they are not all bug-eyed and prone to popping out like pugs and bostons. You and I have expensive taste - we both eyeballed the expensive colors! RE: Frenchies! - LH - 03-14-2010 How many dogs do you have now TK? RE: Frenchies! - Twitchin Kitten - 03-14-2010 Two. One who's on "death watch" due to advanced age - we think he's around 16 and the other is 10 at the end of the month. RE: Frenchies! - LH - 03-14-2010 Ah-ha.........so you are shopping for another, I see. Good Luck! RE: Frenchies! - Black Sun - 03-14-2010 I wouldn't own one in principle. Like many other dog breeds they have been inbred so much they have many congenital health complaints most females can't even give birth naturally because they are so inbred. BBC1 stopped showing Crufts last year for good because so many breeds are being made to suffer just to look a certain way. Give me a healthy mongrel anyday. RE: Frenchies! - Twitchin Kitten - 03-14-2010 There are good breeders and there are bad breeders. Something that is extremely hard to regulate and supervise. That right there was the single main problem with the whole pit bull situation as it is now. These dogs look good. Their faces are not so smushed in and their eyes don't pop. That's HUGE. I would be happy to take one of non show quality or one that was rescued back to the breeder. Both my dogs are pure bred but the both are rescues. Not all mongrels are healthy too. Many have the same problems any purebred has and you don't know about temperament in all cases. The argument for mutts and purebreds regarding health and temperament IMO is equal. There is no dispute that there are poorly bred dogs for the sake of money. Don't even get me started about puppy mills, kitten farms, small caged animals are even treated worse. RE: Frenchies! - Black Sun - 03-14-2010 I know mongrels aren't aren't always healthy but at least they aren't deliberately bred to be unhealthy just so they look a certain way. RE: Frenchies! - Twilla - 03-14-2010 I'd never fork out that much money on a pet. I guess if you planned to show/breed them, it might be a different story. |
