A Nice Find! - watch TV online - Twitchin Kitten - 03-13-2010

I had a link to this ages ago and it went dead. I found this again Stumbling around today. Apparently they revived the site!

Hot damn, that's right up my alley! They actually have a few episodes of "Parker Lewis Can't Lose"... remember that show? I thought it was wildly creative and super funny... let's see if my fond memories hold up.

RE: A Nice Find! - Twitchin Kitten - 03-14-2010

Never watched that show but there are plenty in there that I can use to catch up on lost seasons of stuff!

RE: A Nice Find! - Twilla - 03-14-2010

Only problem is some of them, if I understand this correctly, are hosted by megavideo, which has a time limit with which you can watch their shows. I'll have to check it out further.

I didn't do any watching yet. I spent the day Stumbling around the internet. What's the point of a time limit? Why post something if you are not going to let someone watch the damn thing?

Quote:Why am I being restricted to 72 minutes of viewing time?

CastTV Helper Nov 25, 2009

CastTV provides "one stop watching" for all online videos. Our sophisticated video search technology automatically finds and organizes web-wide video for your enjoyment. Many of the websites we find video from have NO viewing limits but a few do, for example MegaVideo.

1. MegaVideo limits total viewing time at one IP address to 72 minutes, after which the video you’re watching will stop and you’ll see an image stating you’ll need to wait before finishing the video. The wait time between viewing periods is 54 minutes.

2. If you get cut off before 72 minutes:

* Someone else at your IP address (home, office, neighbor logged on to your wireless) might be watching MegaVideo. Together you all will have a total viewing time of 72 minutes before it asks you to wait. You could also try a workaround.
* CastTV is not partnered with MegaVideo and does not have any control over MegaVideo’s timer. CastTV offers you choices so you can enjoy video from any video source you want - browse our Online TV Shows or our Online TV Guide.

Well at least you can pick it up again in an hour. Seems stupid to me though.

RE: A Nice Find! - Twilla - 03-14-2010

72 minutes is plenty of time to watch an hour long show if you only pause it a couple of times (I sometimes have a short attention span and check out what else is going on online during a tv show) but it sucks if you're watching a movie. One good thing about hulu is you can pause it overnight if you want, and you don't get timed out... yet.

RE: A Nice Find! - Twilla - 03-14-2010

Speaking of hulu, they discontinued showing "Medium" so I found another site that shows it... some of the programming is actually hosted at hulu, but there's some good stuff here as well:

I just tried to watch an episode of Dexter there. What a friggin' pain in the ass. Anything that has MegaVideo I'm going to avoid. I'll just order my series stuff on Netflix and watch it all over a weekend like we normally do.

I just kept getting pop up after pop up and when I tried to go full screen, it booted it back to the beginning, wasting valuable minutes. Dexter was a MegaVideo thing.
