RIP Norma - webzdebs - 02-17-2010 My beautiful baby Norma, the winter white hamster, got in a really bad fight yesterday. There had been some fighting which had gotten to the point that I was worried about it, so I separated out the instigator in an effort to keep them with some company….however later that day I went to check on them again and Norma had been attacked really badly, right down to the bone. I moved her to a hospital tank, gave her some fluids via syringe and a hot water bottle to keep her warm whilst she rested but she was gone only an hour later…she was so small and the injuries so severe that there was really nothing more that could have been done. This is so hard when a colony that used to live in harmony starts to fight. Dwarf hamsters will fight to the death too. I had this same problem and I found it was easier to take out the one being picked on instead. I'm sorry Debbie, big hugs on the loss of little Norma.
