Typical short sight - LKTraz - 02-01-2010 The other day something occurred to me while using an air hand dryer. The label on it was extolling the virtues of these modern marvels such as: More sanitary than paper towels. OK, I can buy that. Eliminates paper towel mess in this restroom. Can't argue there. Is better for the environment. Now here is where I have the problem. Ok....to a tree hugger that statement means that less trees will be cut for use as paper towels. HOWEVER.........this machine runs on electricity therefore facilitating the need for current to be generated by a power plant. Said electrical generation causes byproducts to be released into the environment. Self same tree huggers are up in arms about such emissions. WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SENSE IN THAT? Let's get real here folks. Trees are a RENEWABLE resource! You plant new ones and they grow. Imagine that! And let's not even get into that "old growth forest" bullshit. Cripes...the trees that were here when T-Rex roamed about are gone too so go figure! RE: Typical short sight - Twitchin Kitten - 02-01-2010 Kind of makes you scratch your head don't it? I'm all for "saving the planet" but the hysteria needs to die down, the urgency slowed down and the lies stopped. Amen sister. RE: Typical short sight - Twitchin Kitten - 02-01-2010 Yeah LK.... just get to the business of doing it, doing it properly and quit trying to make me feel bad for being alive. They've been screaming about this shit since 1970 and so far it's still bullshit. RE: Typical short sight - Eric - 02-01-2010 I say we cut it all down , burn up all the oil and coal , raise even more cattle so they can fart , net all the fish in all waters we can , and Give everyone of earth a 200 gal tank full of Aerosol spray , aww Terraforming at its finest ![]() RE: Typical short sight - LKTraz - 02-01-2010 So true. Should we be more responsible stewards of the planet? By all means yes! Does this mean we need to go to extremes, blow shitwads of cash at those few elitists who claim to have the answer and inconveience ourselves to the edge of living like a third world nation? NO FUCKING WAY! These eco extremists are not really in it for saving the planet. Follow the $$$ and you'll see the truth. Now they have recruited many unsuspecting and well meaning folks for their crusades. If these people ever pull their heads out of their asses and see that they've been hoodwinked for most of their lives............. RE: Typical short sight - Eric - 02-01-2010 So what your saying is your buing us all Gas hawg Sport Ute's? Sweet I'm in! I HAVE to drive to go grab a case since the nearest outlet is 8 miles away and the closest bar is 6 miles. Remember, in PA we can't buy beer in the supermarket or convenience store. Besides the nearest supermarket is 6 miles and c-store is 8 miles also. So hell yeah E......I can't afford to buy ya one but I'm all for bigassed 4 x 4's and luxoboat cars. I got's me a chain saw and 2 fireplaces in the house......any questions? |
