My car - Twitchin Kitten - 11-18-2017
So coming out of the Holland tunnel home last night, some dick is in the lane without his flashers. He looked like he was just some dumbass driving slow. Well he was not driving he was parked without flashers. The SOB turned them on after we hit him.
I'm a wreck.
I'm banged up.
I wasn't driving. I was a passenger.

Oh shit. Damn. If you aren't feeling to bad now, hopefully your're ok. The second day is always the worst.
I know that thing was your baby, I hope his insurance covers it, and then goes after him. Was a ticket issued to anyone?

Oh fuck.....that sucks.
I would actually hope that they total it so you can get one that hasn't been wrecked. Maybe if you take it to the right place they can find some un-repairable frame damage or something. At least you guys didn't get fucked up bad....or worse.

Yeah thanks Twist. Not sure if they'll total it but I was thinking exactly what you are. My ribs are sore from the seat belt but I'm fine. I'm pissed as hell and we're prob going to be found at fault because it's a matter of trying to prove it.

I think we're just fucked all the way around on this. DMV has Matt listed as suspended for the last year when he absolutely is not. So now we have to prove that. He got tickets for that and following too close. That following too close thing does not help us.
It's most likely a he said she said thing and I have only the fact the airbags did not deploy and him sitting in the lane without flashers going for me and i still would have to prove he didn't have his flashers on because the fuck turned them on after the fact.

It just seems that whenever I get something nice and things are making me happy, somehow it's pulled out from under me.
Adjuster was here.... so far preliminary damages are $7300+
Once at the body shop they'll do more to have a look. Apparently I am not covered for all the mods I put on the car. I'll be adding that into my insurance. Dash cam should be here tomorrow.

Usually you have to tell them in advance about things that change the cost of replacement. Sometimes if you have receipts you can get them added in. As it is not a total and still in your possession, you can show that they WERE on it.

Yeah. I submitted all my receipts so hopefully I'm good. I'll find out more what is shot to hell once the shop can lift the hood and get a good look. So far I definitely know that grill from Cerivinis is flattened out. The carbon fiber looks OK from what I can see and the only thing that might be damaged is the carbon fiber radiator cover and the carbon fiber hood struts.
I have a photo of the mods under the hood too. Good thing!

Can someone tell me how the insurance company can deem you at fault when the police report isn't even in yet? GEICO deemed us at fault and that's going to make it harder to prove my point. Waiting on the tow truck now so then I get to come home and go nuts making phone calls for this instead of doing all the million and one things I have to do to prep for the road trip for Thanksgiving. FML
