So Saturday I'm going to enter my car in a show. I don't expect to win anything as I really haven't tricked it out for that kind of thing, but it's in conjunction with an Octoberfest here in Seaside so it's going to be a massive fun weekend.
Too bad all the custom decor parts I ordered won't be in in time for this. Tomorrow I am getting the grille changed though. and I just spent a small fortune on a ceramic coating.

I will most definitely be imbibing all sorts of things.
SO... I'm driving along on the GS Parkway and around mile 123.9/124 or so there are these big dump trucks. ALL commercial trucks / vehicles MUST exit at exit 105. If you have a parkway permit for construction you can be there but there has to be active construction. These two were maniacs.
Anyway, I'm about 5 car lengths behind this guy after he squeezed between me and the car in front in the middle lane of the parkway. He's running empty but he's doing an easy 80MPH. I see a big rock, the size of my fist bounce out of his dumper and bounce all over. I'm cringing. The rock takes a big hop and hits my car. I thought it it the roof. So I call Matt on the phone and tell him to write this down. I gave him the license plate and then started following this maniac so I can see the name of the company. He's going over the Driscoll bridge at about 95-100 MPH toward 440N and I get a glimpse of his company name - FAFA trucking.
I get out and find a place to pull in to look. I'm looking at the roof and think, "Damn, I must be the luckies...." and turn my head to the right and see a gouge out of the quarter panel. I'm in tears.
I just spent $800 to have a ceramic coating on the car and it's all ready for the show Saturday and this shit happens.
Now this is even better. Since the parkway is patrolled by the State Police, you have to go into the station and make the report in person. BUT... get this, it's not the report you have to do in person, it's to pick up some ridiculous form to fill out to SNAIL MAIL the report to the NJ Dept of Transportation! WTF?
The cop ran the plate for me and got the trucking info. They seem to have NO Endorsements which means they most likely were on the parkway illegally.
From what I know if you are driving empty you don't need to be covered but you need to clean out the box.
I know they are not allowed on the parkway even if they have the permit unless there is ACTIVE construction going on and there was not. They are from West Deptford, NJ, right across the river by Philly, so that means they should have taken the turnpike to 9 to 440 or something like that. These fucks were driving like they had to get off the highway.
I'm livid. I was in tears. So now I gotta make calls, get numbers and other shit and show my car with this fucking gouge in it. You can stand a dime in the crack it's so deep.

I fully expect that.
Estimate if I had to pay for this: $870 and 3 days in the shop. Does not include new ceramic coating and rental car.
I call the company tomorrow and hope they don't force me to go through insurance. I have NO tickets or accidents since 1978 and I'd like to keep it that way.

And I get a mail notification that all my carbon fiber under hood decoration bits are shipped. Wish they did that in the beginning of the week so I could have put them on the car!

More videos on the way. Didn't see my car in this one but the shot of the cars coming over the bridge, ALL of three lanes coming over as far as the eye can see are Mustangs and a couple of Mopar's.
Waiting for the cruise at the last pick up point we could hear them coming for a full 5 minutes from the parkway. (cruise pickup was just off exit 82)

Two shots I found from after we first rolled in and set up. Had the flags there but the wind kept throwing out the one on the driver side so I just put one flag lower down. Apparently everyone didn't hear the club president say he wanted to make the shore bleed red, white & blue for the show.
