You guys never heard of Soundgarden? Seriously?

I might have heard some of the music.  Maybe if you would hum a few bars for me?

In reading on it, I guess they were huge in grunge.  Was never my sound.  Hate Nirvana, thought Rage against the Machine and their spokespeople was retarded.  The name just doesn't sound familiar.

RE: Chris Cornell - twisteroo - 05-18-2017

I've heard of soundgarden, but it never interested me enough to care who was singing or playing or anything.
Just like many others, the best thing that ever happened to his career is being dead, at least now I've heard of him.

RE: Chris Cornell - LKTraz - 05-19-2017

I had to see the reference to Soundgarden to realize who he was.
He really didn't have name recognition much outside of the fanbase.

Quite the shocker though.

He was among those musicians that have done well and are recognized in certain circles but not universally.
I mean who here would recognize say Jean Luc Ponty or Papa John Creach as opposed to Steven Tyler or Billy Gibbons?

RE: Chris Cornell - Biker Dude - 05-20-2017

I know John Luc Ponty, and Papa John

I figured you would.
Now just how many "average" people would though?  My guess is, very few.
