BeatsX headphones - Twitchin Kitten - 05-11-2017

Don't waste your money. What crap. I held onto my Christmas gift card looking for the perfect gift for myself. I picked these $150 pieces of shit. I got better headphones from the damn dollar store.

These things have literally NO bass / low end sound in them. They're thin and sound like AM radio out of a single speaker.

The good part is Apple delivers them overnight. They're going back tomorrow as I'll be up in the area of the store.

what a gyp

Beats has been well known among audiophiles for making overpriced garbage designed to fool people into buying them. A waste of money for quite a while. There are many that will simply blow them away, and for less money at times.

Wish I knew this before I bought them. Reviews were off the charts positive. The apple tech I spoke to said his colleague next to him loves them.

You got any ideas for wireless that are similar in design? These are going back tomorrow as I'll be up by the apple store.

Wireless can be tough for decent music due to the compression inherent in bluetooth. You will always get better sound with a wire.

I bought a set of Skull Candy Hesh 2 headphones, use them in the gym sometimes, sound awesome, for $100. Or have a look at these https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sennheiser-M2-OEw-Ivory-Momentum-2.0-Wireless-On-ear-Headphones/44788695?u1=trd-698240912&oid=223073.44788695&wmlspartner=kXQk6*ivFEQ&sourceid=27687088942264436868&affillinktype=15&veh=aff

Not looking for "Mickey Mouse " ears. I need something small and compact. The beats have the style I wanted for in ear. They don't hurt like the apple pods do. The new apple wireless pods are kinda cool but they are the same uncomfortable design and have no safety feature preventing them from getting lost. I will lose those!

I have to agree with Biker on wires.

BUT........check on manufacturers like Sennheiser, Koss, Sony, Sansui.

If you want in ear bluetooth take a look at these. They're primarily used for studio and stage monitoring. $100.00

OK LK, so how does wired v bluetooth remove the low end sounds? I can see the point of the difference in quality but honestly, these literally have no bass. They sound thin, almost tinny. I had Matt check them before I packed them back up because I had to be sure it wasn't just me being picky.

The ones you showed me, LK have you used them at all?

RE: BeatsX headphones - Biker Dude - 05-12-2017

Here is a very basic over view of the issues with Bluetooth and music. http://schultzinnovation.com/where-are-we-with-bluetooth-audio-quality/

To be honest, with a decent set of headphones you average listener will not notice the loss. My skull candy ones do an excellent job. There is nothing inherent about Bluetooth that causes bass loss specifically, Beats is just garbage.

RE: BeatsX headphones - Twitchin Kitten - 05-12-2017

Yeah I didn't think it would lose that much. I need something with that design more for riding my bike in the woods than anything else. I need the wireless because I'm always getting that wire hung up on something in the tight trails.

RE: BeatsX headphones - LKTraz - 05-13-2017

Yeah like Biker said, Bluetooth doesn't have any effect on fidelity loss. It's the Beats item alone that lacks bass response.

I haven't those pieces but I know people who have and haven't heard anything but good.

Beyerdynamics makes plenty of high end studio gear and an assload of recording pros use their stuff.

My personal preference is a wired set but due to how you want to use them wired would be problematic. Mine are used for my personal in-ear stage monitor system. I've had some pretty high end traditional headphones that didn't sound as good. If you ever want a damn good wired set let me know and I'll send you to the site.
