EGGS! - Twitchin Kitten - 03-27-2017 Check these out. My local supermarket sells loose eggs from some local farm. Jumbo size, double yolk. The egg on the top is the loose egg - double yolk at $2.35/dozen. Below is the ShopRite brand jumbo sized egg. I think these are $1 more per dozen. Why would anyone in their right mind buy the more expensive, smaller eggs? [attachment=3677] RE: EGGS! - twisteroo - 03-27-2017 I dunno, a year or two ago when the bird flu was around everyone I know was getting chickens because the price of eggs was high. Today I bought a dozen at wal mart for like a buck and a half. All those guys still have those filthy shit machines running around their yards. The eggs I like best and eat the most of come already cooked and served by a pretty little blonde. RE: EGGS! - Twitchin Kitten - 03-28-2017 That pot holder is 9" across the middle. The big egg is almost as big as a duck egg. And you got it right about free range birds. The only place they seem to shit is the paths you walk regularly. Geese are the worst. but man, those eggs I get are so good I will go without before using the "regular" eggs. I got stuck for half a dozen for baking so I snapped this pic with the last big one I had. You should see how fluffy cakes come with these things! RE: EGGS! - LKTraz - 03-30-2017 Grocery store eggs here are at $1.36 for jumbo. There is a farmer just up the road who sells them (brown shell) for $1.50. But then again there are almost 30 egg houses within a 15 mile radius of here and quite a few farmers with small flocks just selling them direct. |
