Tell me you wouldn't walk straight out the door and quit no matter how much you needed a job?

FOX NEWS - Workers at one Arkansas poultry plant were denied restroom breaks to the point some "had to wear Pampers," according to an explosive new report on working conditions in the chicken processing industry.

"I had to wear Pampers," a worker identified as Dolores stated in a damning a report from Oxfam America. "I and many, many others had to wear Pampers."

Industry employees have also been forced to cut down on drinking fluids "to a dangerous degree," and some reported having urinated or defecated on themselves while working because they can't hold it in any longer, according to the report.

"Supervisors mock [the workers'] needs and ignore
their requests; they threaten punishment or firing," the report's executive summary states. "Workers wait inordinately long times (an hour or more), then race to accomplish the task within a certain timeframe (e.g., ten minutes) or risk discipline."

One worker said supervisors at an Alabama plant regularly threatened people by saying, "Go to the to the bathroom, and from there, go to Human Resources." Another worker at a plant in the Delmarva (Delaware, Maryland and Virginia) region claimed it took between 20 and 60 minutes to get permission to leave her position and use the bathroom.

I saw that this morning. No way, I'd be gone. First time they said I couldn't go piss, I'd say go fuck yourself. Probably get fired. But then if they tell you about it during the interview, I would have passed.

RE: Pampers and Chicken - Twitchin Kitten - 05-12-2016

Pretty sure this is something they don't tell you in the interview. You should see the stupid facebook comments. People are pretty brave behind that keyboard. Suddenly it's an illegal alien issue. idiots

I've quit on the spot for less. Jobs are easy to find if you try hard enough.

RE: Pampers and Chicken - Twitchin Kitten - 05-12-2016

OH and the Fox News link has the names of the factories accused. Seems like bullshit to me. I dunno. I poked around at all the possible links. Why has no one brought human rights charges?

RE: Pampers and Chicken - twisteroo - 05-12-2016

I remember something like this a few years ago going on at Jack Daniels or somewhere.
Yeah, I might not walk out but there would be a fight.
If I have to go to the bathroom I just walk away. I leave the piece of shit running and leave. Funny, the shit wagon is still running when I get back too. Fuck it.

Actually I would gather as many with me who had the guts and ALL of us would leave at once. How about your production NOW bitches?

The other alternative would be to just turn around and piss on the floor or even better the supervisor's leg. If I'm gonna get fired then I will make the best of it and make a statement.

RE: Pampers and Chicken - Twitchin Kitten - 05-13-2016

Well, if you read the Fox News link article, you'll see the list of factories accused and how people apparently piss in the corner anyway.

See, it's stuff like this that made me question which side of the spectrum you fell on.  This feels fairly leftist to me.

My mom was a Teamster.
My mom is a republican.
Is that a conundrum or a contradiction? Hmm...

If you recall my posts on social issues and political views, you could see how I take on issues on an individual basis and not tout the party line Smile
