Hurricane Patricia - LKTraz - 10-24-2015

Hurricane Patricia made landfall on the west coast of Mexico with sustained winds of 165 MPH. Category 5 is a hurricane with winds over 157 MPH.

This is the strongest storm on record in the eastern Pacific with max winds of 200 MPH and a low pressure of 879 mb. For comparison the lowest pressure Katrina achieved was 902 mb.

Very good information here and there is a cascading video. Watch at least the first 4 videos. They are quite informative and show some good pre-landfall storm footage.

Yeah, one of our members, Obycencio lives in Mexico. I talk with her on FB and I hope she fares well in this monster.

Well thankfully the storm quickly dissipated as it moved inland. Had it taken a path following the coast it would have been a VERY destructive event.

Yeah it would. She's in Mexico City so I think it would have skirted her by a slight margin. We're starting to feel the rain from it here and I think by mid-week we'll see a lot more rain from it. The aerial photos of that beast were amazing.

The eye was one of VERY few that were that tight and was not clear of clouding.

I just was amazed at the 879 mb pressure. That's DAMN low! Couple that with 200 MPH winds and......holy shit.
