Orange Bob - twisteroo - 11-30-2014 Orange Bob showed up a few days ago. He's very friendly and loves our food. He's wearing a collar with reflectors on it. I'm gonna find out tomorrow about getting him scanned and see if he by chance has a chip. I've put ads on Craigslist and answered on a long shot ad from the Rochester area about a missing orange cat with no tail, it wasn't him. ![]() I gotta get this guy back home or find him a new home. Who wouldn't want a nice friendly Orange Bob? ![]() RE: Orange Bob - Twitchin Kitten - 11-30-2014 He may be a purebred Manx cat. How to tell: he will be missing a vertebrae where the spine and tail meet. It will have a small 'hollow' as if there is a bit of a 'dip' then the tail. He will also be a little 'ass high' when he walks, almost as if he's walking downhill due to longer back legs. Not by much, so you have to have a good eye. His tail doesn't look 'unnatural'. He's a handsome dude! If you can get a couple of good side shots of him for me where he's walking even I might be able to see. Maybe a video if you can too. I found a Manx cat once long ago. He followed me home in the woods while I was on my horse. He kept meowing and following until I got to the busy road. I got off the horse, stuffed the dirty guy into my coat and zipped him in good. Risking a shredding by some stray while he freaks out from the noise of the traffic, off I went toward home. He didn't mind the warm digs and stayed in the coat all the way home - 3 miles. i was still on Staten Island too. We named him Elmer J. Stubbs and he was the coolest guy - very much like Iggy was. Poor guy dropped dead several years later here in NJ while he was eating his breakfast. RE: Orange Bob - Biker Dude - 11-30-2014 Orange Bob. Good looking cat. Doesn't look like a stray, or if he is, he knows how to take care of himself! Good luck finding him either home, or a home. RE: Orange Bob - Twitchin Kitten - 11-30-2014 That's the first and only glimpse of twists wife you know. 3 1/2 fingers of the left hand ![]() Hello Mrs. Twisteroo! I'm gonna find out about getting him scanned for a chip next. Shit, I even signed into face book so I can get him on a local face book lost and found pet site. RE: Orange Bob - twisteroo - 12-01-2014 Orange Bob got scanned at the vet, no chip. ![]() He seems comfortable in the barn, although Angus and Scruffy need to leave him alone. They seem to think they need to fight with every other cat in the county. I have ads posted everywhere, a flyer up in the post office and I even stopped by the animal shelter on my way home and dropped one off. It seems that they had already heard about him through my ads and posting this morning. I only dropped a flyer off at the shelter, not Orange Bob. ![]() RE: Orange Bob - Twitchin Kitten - 12-01-2014 Orange Bob looks like a house cat. RE: Orange Bob - Biker Dude - 12-01-2014 I agree. He looks healthy, not thin. |
