BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - Twitchin Kitten - 08-19-2014 How do you guys handle cleaning the grill? We just bought a really nice grill on sale and this time went with all stainless steel including the grilling surface. OMG this thing is nice. Anyway, how do you handle who cleans it? I think it's only fair that the person who cooks cleans the grill. I HATE cleaning the grill. I always cut up my hands getting into the corners and stuff. RE: BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - LKTraz - 08-19-2014 The cleaning is the last act of grilling. Whoever did up the food should also do the cleaning. See now, I disagree. When I cook the other person does the cleaning. And vice versa. Split the work. However, 99% of the time my grill doesn't get dirty because I cook on foil. Get the great taste of the grill without the mess
RE: BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - Twitchin Kitten - 08-19-2014 I can't get the grill grates clean after Matt made grill pizza last night

RE: BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - Twitchin Kitten - 08-19-2014 NOOOOO! It's stainless steel grates! RE: BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - TenFour - 08-19-2014 Um, i use a cast iron griddle insert that keeps all the bullshit off the grates. fuck cleaning that shit spotless, treat it like cast iron, let it cure. scrape the chunks off as needed when you're preheating. RE: BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - twisteroo - 08-19-2014 I don't clean it at all. Let the fire do it's work. RE: BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - Vizth Hal - 08-20-2014 Cast iron grill here, cleaning in easy, i can just run a brush up and down it for 5 sec and it's clean, RE: BBQ Grill - who cleans it? - AnthonyG - 08-21-2014 I have an all stainless weber grille, for the outside I use stainless steel polish when grille is cooled off and works like a champ, shelia shine is the best but expensive so I regularly use "professional easy off" then shelia shine on the tough spots. The grates in mine are stainless as well and I do exactly what LK said. Since your scrubbing with the grain of the metal per say or extrusion lines the scratches are not noticeable. Unless your grates are polished stainless which I have never seen. If you dont want to get that abrasive let the grates get really hot then water and papertowel while wearing a work glove it will clean it enough to cook without any residual taste of what you cooked on it before. |
