Okay Fellow Techie's LOL NERDS,,, - BarEdul - 02-19-2014 I am an aspiring NERD... LOL I haven't got a clue what I am doing.. So this is gonna be damn frustrating for you to drag me through LOL.. I am going to have some of the STUPIDEST questions as you have already realized! Worse yet you are gonna have to put up with my shitty grammar. But I will eventually catch on. Warning one.. I haven't a rat's chance in hell of how to get photo's off my phone without using my card reader. NOW.. why won't I use the card reader? One I know I can do it with my USB and two what if the damn card won't come out of the phone right and i want to save the pictures I HAVE to know how to do this.. OH YEAH LK your not gonna yell at me while you teach me.. So here's the Headache.. somebody got me a tablet... Okay.. according to everybody HERE LET"S CLEAR THIS UP>.( except ME) it's a piece of shit.. I bought it at WAL MART.. ha ha Yeah well I picked it out at WAL MART got it off AMAZON.COM.. Yeah I know.. It's not a nook or a nexus.. deal with it... Just so you can look at it and laugh.. Its a VISUAL LAND 10D... I HAPPEN to LOVE it and OH for you snobs just to clear this up check into who makes MOST of the processors.. ha ha.. Anyhow... It has a middle ground 1.2 ghz processor 1gb of ram and 16 gb of memory. I am thrilled with the ports and crap on board software except for the stinking angry birds.. SAVE ME.. anyway. Here's my first dumb question.. I know you can put certain files on and off the system, photos and music... Does that include text files like oh.. letter, or a diary and does that also include.... The books you get from KINDLE as they don't I think have kindle for a computer? See I get free books for my phone, I have amazon PRIME for my purchases which includes some nifty priviledges. We have saved tons in shipping I love the free cook books I have some already and don't want to loose them. 1) how can I salvage them from my smart phone so I don't loose the free version. 2) can I transfer them from my visual land 10D tablet to my lappy as yes I have USB connections on my TABLET.. Even if I can't access the file on my comp as long as it doesn't screw up the file. I want durable permanent storage.. Including a copy on an sd card. Oh Lappy has 750 Gb's just spinning its wheels currently doing NODDA. 3) have any of you used spotify for multiple technologies including tablets phones and TV's I like it on my comp for free but don't want to pay for the multiple up grade if it is poorly done. Oh and just to scare the hell out of you.. He got me a camera too and I haven't a clue what I am doing with it either muwahahahah. RE: Okay Fellow Techie's LOL NERDS,,, - Twitchin Kitten - 02-19-2014 Yes to all. Don't be afraid of taking the SD card out of the phone and using it in your computer. I'm assuming you're using a mini SD card and it has a bigger housing to slip the mini into to use on the computer or tablet. If not, just plug the phone in and you should see it and it's contents as if it was a thumb drive in the My Computer area of the tablet and computer. Simply drag and drop from there. Kindle - get the Kindle app from Amazon and same thing. Drag and drop. Text files - any kind of text and pdf file can be read on any tablet or phone with a reader or Kindle installed. As for durable permanent storage - get an external hard drive and save your shit on that. you should be doing regular backups of your files on one of those already. Same drag and drop works on your camera. There is NO NEED to install special software for any of your devices. Angry Birds - hate it? Simply uninstall it. Delete it. easy I am all Apple products - I am told I need to use iTunes to do any of that. Bullshit. I've never installed special software that came with anything I purchased and I wasn't about to start doing so once I switched to Apple products. So, explore. Put in a blank card and put stuff you are not afraid of losing on it and play around until you're comfortable. Also, very important so you don't lose data - make sure you properly disconnect your external devices or you risk losing all the data on them. Don't know how to do this? easy On your laptop look at your clock. There either is an icon or an arrow that opens a little square box and in there is an icon that looks like the end of a usb cable. Hover over it and it should say, "safely remove hardware" or some shit like that. CLICK IT. now it gives you a list of what you have connected to the computer. Select the device you want to remove / unplug and when you are prompted it's safe, then you pull the umbilical cord and you're files are safe and uncorrupted. RE: Okay Fellow Techie's LOL NERDS,,, - BarEdul - 02-19-2014 Hey that helps was digging around on Amazon in my account found the Kindle "app" for my comp.. I am now app. I am now able to put my books on my comp account and read them, sync to my phone and my tablet all on one account shifting them from device to device in a breeze. My tablet was NOT suppose to be here till FRIDAY.. So I was doing all this reading trying to learn shit looking at prospective shit on google play you know. Getting a feel for shit so I did less download this piece of shit and go OH I hate that throw it off and try again. did a lot of that with the phone at first. have got a lot better at picking and choosing etc now. On my bad days.. you know what I mean.. I sit and "shop" I coupon clip hunt for places via write ups reviews, customer suggestions, friends opinions, recipes, all that stuff even stalk up to 15 stores or more for sales. I find the biggest and brightest of savings and knock money off of things that can save us money in simple ways like I found this... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001LJKLT4/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER We found something more specific we wanted in a local store. It was my solution to a nightmare dark spot in a hall way here. We had a horrible problem with a cat, a litter box, a door and NO light and no real way to put one up that didn't eat up tons of batteries with out walking about 5 feet into disaster first. This is a cheap way and it up high enough that nothing automatically sets it off and waste batteries. HOORAH! So in my own homemaker way as soon as this tablet hit's my table... today HOPEFULLY fingers crossed.. it goes to work and will keep doing so till I wear that bitch out. every little trick I can learn saves me the price of it and money for my household just like any heater water jacket or fuel saving device any any vehicle someone else may buy. RE: Okay Fellow Techie's LOL NERDS,,, - BarEdul - 02-20-2014 yes one tablet on the table! AT about 4:30 a little later. The poor UPS man comes happily carrying two tiny packages up.. Me the smartass that I ams smile and say "Yeah you owe me a couple more." He had parked between houses trying to be cute cause the neither neighbor needed a tiny package too. OOOOPS not so bright. 3 MORE heavier packages later he was not laughing. Anyhow.. I started playing.. ignored making dinner got Mary Pat to do that and proceed to play till about 10:00 pm LOL.. Still ain't done. Who would think these toys would take that long just to type in stupid names, titles and get small items found oriented and sorted... and of course.. one has to download "Clash of Clans" just to blow time. AND throw out ANGRY BIRDS! Kindle is now synced up.. heh heh between the three accounts I can tote that stinking book anywhere oooh yah! So is my spotify music! However.. here's a question anyone know which device would have randomly turned on a Sanyo tv in a seperate room? LOL that was interesting! Haven't figured that one out yet! LOL RE: Okay Fellow Techie's LOL NERDS,,, - BarEdul - 03-14-2014 can't get rid of angry fucking birds back back. hate it but doesn't mean i have to play it although I have a new hate passion for floppy anything! RE: Okay Fellow Techie's LOL NERDS,,, - Twitchin Kitten - 03-14-2014 Why not? just delete it off the app and whatever thing that is like iTunes for Android you have that stores and stuff. Poof! Unless you can't get rid of it because you're hooked on it |
