I guess I'm gonna go back to bed for a while.
Work left me a message to not even bother trying to run my tank to NJ till around 6 AM and at that it will be a crap shoot as to whether or not NJ is still in a state of emergency.
If there wasn't that official declaration I would have tried it. Hell......I ran across Michigan's U.P. with ass deep un-plowed snow on US 2 and can't count how many times I had to run NY 5 because the NY Thruway was closed so snow doesn't stop me. If I can get the truck to move I'm good.
Wyoming kicked me off I-80 and I sat for 2 days. Been tossed off I-90 and I-84 and I-81 few times too.
Oh well.

It's not very deep here, but it's real icy underneath. 4x4's are slipping all over. It's below 15º so salt won't do any good to melt things until / unless it warms up and that's not expected until Saturday but it will remain icy. Stopped snowing for a couple hours overnight and it's started up again now with fat fluffy flakes. Roads were real bad last night when it just started coming down. Was warm all day with a sudden drop in temps so it got a sheet of ice under the snow fast.
You get fluffy normal snow or ice like us?
And wtf is with the Weather Channel naming winter storms? So stupid.

Thursday was the bad day around here, and it's so damn cold the salt won't even work. It was minus 3 when I went to bed last night and is 8 above now. But at least it stopped snowing.

It's -4º outside. Thermometer out back is in the sun and says it's 14º. That's cuz it's in the sun. It's friggin cold. global warming my ass. Streets are sheets of ice and salt won't work unless it hits 20º. Jersey used to use a sand/salt mixture and that would give a bit of traction, but they're too friggin' lazy to use it or plow any roads.
Goddamn mail was not delivered yesterday. Mailman is a coward. I guess they don't take the oath anymore. I even got the snow close to the curb so the poor fag doesnt' have to lean out too far to stick the mail in the box.

I waited for the sun to come up and it turned out to be a good decision.
By the time I got to I - 81 the road was mainly wet with a few drift patches. I-78 was wet with dry wheel paths. When I got to Allentown we had 1 dry and 1 wet lane on 78. In NJ 78 was nearly dry and by the time I got east of I-287 there was very little moisture on the road at all.
Wet roads with slush spots on the streets in Elizabeth.
On the way back.......dry roads on the interstates!
