What is it? #25 - twisteroo - 04-15-2013 Anyone ever see one of these? ![]() RE: What is it? #25 - LKTraz - 04-15-2013 Some sort of cutting device? RE: What is it? #25 - Twitchin Kitten - 04-15-2013 Man hole lifter? RE: What is it? #25 - AnthonyG - 04-16-2013 Large Nail puller RE: What is it? #25 - Twitchin Kitten - 04-16-2013 That is some kind of fireman's tool. Maybe something to cut through a metal door or something. Looks like a giant can opener. RE: What is it? #25 - ralgith - 04-16-2013 Anthony has it. http://antiquejackpot.com/productdisplay/giant-nail-puller RE: What is it? #25 - AnthonyG - 04-16-2013 Ive seen them in use, the real old fences that were held together with those giant nails, you would use this to pull the nails out to replace the wood planks. I've used it for pulling nails on boards like decking that you would want to save the board. It will put a couple gouges around the nail head but will pull it out without a whole lot of damage. The handle part is a slide to bash the teeth into the wood, then you tip it back and that foot on the jaws closes the jaws on the nail head and you use the leverage to lift the nail up so you can get hold of it with the usual claw kinda puller.
