Only TV I make time for is 'The White Queen'
It is a fiction based on fact about the war between the House of Lancaster and York in the Medieval period. King Edward III reigned, but it is mainly about his wife who he married against church ruling. She was a widow and a Commoner (not titled).
It was believed she was a witch, but then witches were powerful and no one crossed them.
Last week was pretty gruesome with Prince George (2nd in line) put to death for treason- he was allowed to choose his own fate, so he decided to be drowned in a vat of red wine. This was regarded as a poor man's death.
If it ever turns up on your TV I strongly recommend it- it's got everything, war, tits, babies, witchcraft, horror and intrigue. some great scenery too.

Sadly, the White Queen is only available for purchase at $45 for season one. I'm going to have to wait on this one.
