Review: Evangelion 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone - Vizth Hal - 11-17-2009

How come i just now figured out there remaking this series? Threw it on Netflix it's on a short wait. It's the first in a 4 part series of movies.

Hopefully the ending will prove to be less of a mindfuck then the original series XD

I'll post a review and screenies when i get the movie in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well finally got it in today. It's F-king awesome. A lot better than the tv series. Only real complaint i have is Shinji Ikari is still a whiny little bitch, but that's the only thing that got on my nerves.

The animation quality is top notch, soundtrack as well. You really get a feel for the size of the angles, the eva's, and the power they can wield. Although this movie follows the original tv series. The ending makes it clear that there will be some big differences. It seems their making the plot more direct and less of a mindfuck like the first one.

This movie tackles the first 3 Angels from the original series, the last of them Ramiel gets a huge overhaul and becomes something considerably more awesome then being just a giant floating diamond. The fight with it got the hair on the back of my neck to stand up.

Basic outline of the plot.
Evangelion is an apocalyptic mecha action series which revolves around the efforts by the paramilitary organization Nerv to fight monstrous beings called Angels, primarily using giant mecha called Evangelions which are piloted by select teenagers, one of whom is the primary protagonist.

I'm not recommending this movie, I'm telling you to watch it, even if you didn't like the TV series this is worth the watch.

NGE has a fairly rare take on mecha, Their organic with the heavy armor to control them as much as protect them.

Evangelion: one of the few Anime I could never get into.

Watching all of Naruto (both series) on Hulu right now though.

ah I've always had a softspot for mecha anime.

If you can find it I'd recommend watching Gasaraki

I like some of the Gundam series; though G-Gundam was lame. I liked Gundam Wing, 8th MS Squad...

Not really into the mecha so much though. I like Samurai Champloo, Bleach, Naruto, anything by Hayao Miyazaki.... umm, Cowboy Bebop because its funny as shit, Trigun... ok, having brain freeze atm so I can't think of other titles. lol

Samauri Camploo is definitely on my top 10 list.

You ever give Hellsing, or Hellsing Ultimate a try?
