What distribution and version did you try? Some are better than others Wink And the past 2 years has seen a MAJOR improvement in ease of use in most distros. Smile

Fedora, i've got the latest version dual booted with win 7. Got a big ass book for it too, didn't help much lol.

Fedora isn't good for newbies really. Too much of it is still done "old school".

Try Mandriva I use it even though I'm an advanced Linux user, because WHY do things the hard way if the easy way is available? Smile

Anyways, back to Win7... I'm firing up VMWare right now to install it on.

I went to win 7 straight from xp, was like a revelation for me XD

feature i'm probably using the most is the wallpaper slideshow.

RE: anybody tried windows 7 yet - ralgith - 11-13-2009

heh, I wouldn't use that. Annoying imo. And they have that for XP too, its called Webshots. My friend Carol uses it. Oh sure, its an extra program instead of an integrated feature, but it has the same effect.

Go for it Pickles - you'll like it.

Me, I'm going to go buy an Apple next time around. I might convince Matt to upgrade to W7 just so I know it and can help people who need it.
