Who's your Favorite? - Twitchin Kitten - 10-07-2012 Who is your favorite old time bandits / outlaws? Why? Watching something on TV today gave me the idea of this topic. Everyone has a 'romantic' feeling toward those who've, although they are 'bad people', gave the finger to the man and got away with it. My faves are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Why? Because they are the ultimate crooks. The mystery around their demise is intriguing, their bodies never found and family insists Cassidy did indeed come back to the USA from Bolivia yet the one person to claim this never told anyone where he is truly buried. She took it to her grave. RE: Who's your Favorite? - Twilla - 10-07-2012 I think he was a violent sociopath with a terrible temper but Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel was a fascinating character. He even hung out with Hollywood actors and celebrities, which is kind of weird if you're a well known murderer that should stay out of the spotlight. Had a big dream and made it into a reality. Handsome too. He's the guy who shot a man in the hotel room next to him for snoring too loud!!!!! I like the way fashion dictates who the baddies and the goodies are too- black hats and white hats. High pants and high belts or black waist coats and low belts Black and white films are best! (Spag' bog' westerns are a league of their own!) Robin Hood was my childhood favourite- Richard Green in his so well tailored green tights and jerkin in the TV series. In my teens I would always be late for my weekly Guiding (Scout) meeting because Alias Smith and Jones was on! Ben Murphy...sigh, *But that is going off at a tangent..isn't it? RE: Who's your Favorite? - John L - 10-17-2012 I don't have any favorites, but if I did, it would probably also be Wyatt Earp. And make no mistake, he was a Heinz 57 'catch all' type rascal. But what I liked best is that no matter how many times he was shot at, he was never shot. Its as thought he has some sort of force field around himself. I like that. Clyde Barrow had one gift: he knew the value of the BAR over other automatic weapons. The Thompson was great for close in, but couldn't reach out and touch someone, like the BAR could. He knew his weapons. RE: Who's your Favorite? - LKTraz - 10-21-2012 Oddly though John, Clyde preferred 12 gauge shotguns for himself deferring the BAR use to Bonnie Parker who used one with a sawed off stock and modified sling. She was quite proficient with it too!
