The Patch Cat - twisteroo - 10-04-2012 My Patch cat passed on. She was a good cat. She was nothing but a stray, never came in the house. She was always happy to have food and to be able to get into the warm basement in the winter time. She had never gone to the vet before about 10 days ago. I'm trying to remember when she showed up here. I honestly think it was between 1993 and 1995. She was old for an outdoor cat. She spent her last days in the basement being made as comfortable as possible, getting her favorite food, trying to get strong again. She ended up having a hard time breathing and she gave up. When she stopped eating we knew it was time. She was an old girl, she was a good girl, and will be missed. It was a sad day around the old twisterosa a couple of days ago. I chose her spot out back and sent her off with a few tears and provisions for her journey. I don't need e-hugs or sympathy, I just wanted to tell everyone that one of the good ones is gone. RE: The Patch Cat - Twitchin Kitten - 10-04-2012 Aww, so sad Twist. She was such a pretty cat too. I remember when you first posted about her. If you got her that long ago, man that's OLD for an outdoor cat. We got Chucky in '96 and I got him on the "death watch" for a year. He's going to pull a "Smitty" on me and last another 5. and :FU: you get the e- anyway.
RE: The Patch Cat - Rhubarb - 10-04-2012 She looked a character- as if she was in on a secret joke. Even if you saw her as feral cat, she knew she was home. RE: The Patch Cat - twisteroo - 10-04-2012 She was a true stray. I like to think that we are both better off for having crossed paths in this shitty world. She had not been spending much time around home this summer. She met me out on the deck one morning about 2 weeks ago and I brought her in and started looking after her. I wonder if she showed up looking for help. I hope she did come looking for help, and I hope I was able to help her, help her feel at home, help her be comfortable, help her when she needed it the most. Damn stray animals anyway. RE: The Patch Cat - Twitchin Kitten - 10-04-2012 She knew to go to the one kind human she knew. They always know and they always do. RE: The Patch Cat - Twilla - 10-04-2012 That's old for a cat, period. RIP Patches. RE: The Patch Cat - twisteroo - 10-05-2012 Thanks guys.
RE: The Patch Cat - LKTraz - 10-05-2012 She knew where to go to spend her remaining time on this dirtball in space. I'm sure she passed away knowing she was where she was loved and cared for. |
