Looking at the video, he looks fine. I see no soreness from "tendonitis", but then again, they have him wrapped up pretty tight.
I wonder if he showed he couldn't make the long haul to the mile and a half and they pulled him?

Nope, but back on topic...
Of course, I missed the press conference.
All reports claim tendonitis and they retired the horse. I was looking forward to this race too.
You only get one shot at the Triple Crown too. They could heal him. To do it right, it would take nearly a year, but he won't be able to race in the next Triple Crown.
I've brought horses back from blown tendons. If you can get them to heal up right, they are like cement and are real hard to blow again. Apparently this horse didn't fully blow it, it is a little bit swollen so they're not taking any chances.
If I were the owner, I'd heal him up real good, bring him up slow and just race him in small races because you can see it's what that horse loves to do.

It would be interesting to see if they chose to heal him and then ran him on the track at Belmont. Just to see if he MIGHT have been able to pull it off.
I guess we'll never know.

I wouldn't do that if it were my horse. That would be pushing it after healing.
He could go on to a career the likes of John Henry, but those big races are out of the question unless you're a cold bastard who doesnt' give a crap about the animal or the money it takes to care, feed, and heal him "just to see if".
