Kitchen Flood - LH - 04-06-2012

3 weeks ago my sink let go at 1 in the morning.
I woke up at 5am Monday to 800 gallons everywhere.
It took 1 week to suck up the water and dry.
Kitchen, cellar, 1 bedroom wrecked.
Insurance covered everything.
Today 4/06/12 the kitchen is stripped 3 weeks after "the happening"
Pictures to follow............so the process of healing begins.........

I sit here singing As time goes on....
I realize...
Just what you mean.....
to me.
Microwave sucks, I may never eat another microwave thing for the rest of my life........I might just take the damn thing and leave it on a lonely road in the mountains to fend for itself!

I definitely want to see pictures!

You said in the chat room it was $10K worth of damage. How do you figure so little? Kitchen cabinets alone cost a fortune! Custom cabinets or out of the box stuff?

RE: Kitchen Flood - LH - 04-06-2012

My son loves your dancing kitty avatar. Not out of the box they are getting built 5000.00 for the bottom I think I can match with the top If I have the upperes made. around 8000.00 total for cabs and counter. floor is around 2000.00 plumbing is free or not. heh

RE: Kitchen Flood - LH - 04-06-2012

I fired the cabinet guy I had Friday.
He is a friend but could not give me a proper proposal to submit.
I have a quote now for 5500 and that has granite countertops upper and lower.
I really just wanna get this shit done and cannot do it myself
I have to work...........

The new guy is coming over Saturday, The place is gutted and ready......I did that last weekend

RE: Kitchen Flood - Twitchin Kitten - 04-06-2012

You're still getting a huge deal on cabinets and a granite counter top! My tiny kitchen was priced at $10K without counter tops.

I don't blame you for wanting to get it done already. I'm STILL waiting for that spare room to be finished! Fucking Mike punked out in the middle of mudding and taping for us and won't answer phone calls.

Yeah.........I'm hoping for an easy Summer......but it aint lookin good. Dammit!

RE: Kitchen Flood - Biker Dude - 04-07-2012

Must be east coast pricing. Last kitchen I put in I paid 3k for all the cabinets, and the uppers were the extra talls as the ceiling was 10ft.
