Bike of the Year- time to vote - Rhubarb - 09-28-2011 End of the season. Last Bike Night last night and because it was so hot the quay was heaving. No1 son and myself did get a space on the quay, in the quadrant by the hotel. We like it there because the hotel has CCTV, and it protects the bikes. The marshalls were packing us in though. I got trapped between getting off my bike and Phil's bike becuase he insists on putting on those suitcase panniers on his bike. The Speed Triple next to me lifted his bike off its side stand so I could climb over and get out! ![]() Mark was on a late shift and ended up in Arena 2 and had to walk back to the quay. Then the Sea fog came in, it was still warm and a pig to ride home in, like something out of a bad Sherlock Holmes story. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - Rhubarb - 09-28-2011 ![]() ![]() ![]() I voted for the Rat Bike- It had been ridden across Europe into India and from Darwin to Sydney in Australia. It worked for a living. The chopper (everyone was convinced) was picked the following week because the owner went 'ape-shit' as Lynne put it (the Marshall who helps with the weekly pick of the bikes). He sat and ranted and raved about how he should be a winner going to the meets every week and stormed off with loads of throttle. *Spoilt brat. Last I heard on the way back to our bikes late in the evening the Ducati racer (red/gold classic) won, but it wasn't confirmed in the paper. Paul (Mark's school friend) and his wife walked back to our bikes on the way to their BSA (at Arena 2). There were the usual Police bikes by the end gate, they do a publicity thing with kiddies sitting on the bikes and turn on the lights. 'Bye then Trudi, now remember to get that tax sorted on your bike now you've taken the baffles out of the exhaust!' Oh, Thank you very much Paul, I'm NOT sending you a get well card now.......... *Policeman 'I'm not raising to the bait, I'm off duty' *Policeman 'Get well card? Is there going to be some violence? Can I hold him down while you hit him?' Paul goes into hospital on friday. I'm going the pay the nurses to get him sectioned ![]() RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - twisteroo - 09-28-2011 My favorites would have to be the one with the sidecar, (is that a BSA?) and the black one that I think is the rat bike. RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - Twitchin Kitten - 09-28-2011 I noticed an old Indian in photo 1 ![]() The Ducati racer is sweet! and the guy with the chopper is a brat. That bike is a dime a dozen here. Tell him so next time he has fits. He's got nothing special. RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - twisteroo - 09-28-2011 Pretty much....every punk that can get a loan for $20K is riding a friggin chopper around here. Jerkasses! RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - Aurora Moon - 09-28-2011 I once thought about getting myself a motorcycle, but I thought better of it. I'm a complete klutz on my bike as it is, so on a motorcycle I would only get into even more accidents. instead I redid my bedroom. ![]() that aside, those are all very nice motorcycle. my favorite is the steam-punk looking one. RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - Twitchin Kitten - 09-28-2011 Steam punk bike? Do you mean that rusty thing? That's what's known as a rat bike. THIS is a steam punk bike. And it's sweet! RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - Aurora Moon - 09-28-2011 yeah, that is pretty cool. RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - LKTraz - 09-29-2011 I'd toss a coin between the rat bike and the blue trike. RE: Bike of the Year- time to vote - Twitchin Kitten - 09-29-2011 That BSA with the enclosed side car is pretty unique too. That is a BSA isn't it, Trudi? |
