Barn Cars! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-31-2011 Trudi, you gotta show this to Mark! I was DROOLING at all the old cars stored in here. I wonder if he ever restored any of them with little effort? http://dalesdesigns.net/barncars.htm RE: Barn Cars! - twisteroo - 08-31-2011 Freaking holy crap!! RE: Barn Cars! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-31-2011 Yeah, that's some find ain't it? I'd be fixing them all up and taking them to Barrett-Jackson after I keep the one's I want RE: Barn Cars! - LKTraz - 09-01-2011 What a treasure chest! I would think from the looks of them that some simply needed rinsed off! RE: Barn Cars! - Twitchin Kitten - 09-01-2011 If they were put away properly. Any fluids left in could gunk things up considerably. RE: Barn Cars! - LKTraz - 09-01-2011 For the most part gasoline is the only fluid that will really gum up. The oil and transmission fluid/oil (depending on whether automatic or manual) should be changed before and extensive running and movement. Antifreeze should be fine regardless of how long the vehicle sat. Changing it and flushing the cooling system is simply precautionary but in a case like this, why not. RE: Barn Cars! - Rhubarb - 09-14-2011 I've seen this circled by friends before. It actually quite old now and most of the cars have been sold. How do I know? A friend of ours in the car club went down to look at the Saab 93 (1958 model) that was in there. He said most were up together, but the tyres and hoses had to be replaced- obviously. There is a similar place in Denmark (re-holiday pictures) the castle we didn't go to on the car run had cars hidden in the loft. It is a museum now but the cars in the loft are still there and untouched. I see if I can find a photo I took. |
