RE: Thanks for the rain from across the pond - Twitchin Kitten - 08-18-2011 But I thought you like when we share everything with you! We're still trying to dry out over that. Set Matt back two weeks on a job he has only half a day needed to finish and my pool is overflowing. Tomatoes all split from the rain and the basement - I don't know how I skirted it, only has a trickle of water coming in. The grass does look nice though! RE: Thanks for the rain from across the pond - Rhubarb - 08-18-2011 I got soaked coming home at lunch- the lane was so flooded I took off my shoes and waded nearly to my knees. Shoes are still so wet I have them stuffed with paper. David and I did hear a spitfire go over this afternoon very low. Possibly so low under the cloud level it took the beach warning flags out I guess most of the aircraft displays were cancelled, much like last year. The shopping centre in town was closed for an hour because it was high tide and the 'white-water drains' couldn't cope and flooded the centre and the square. The trains has to stop too. |
