Vince Flynn - Jamminitin - 03-22-2011 Does anyone read his books? TK-you have a comic book and animae section and no book section?????? RE: Vince Flynn - Twitchin Kitten - 03-22-2011 We had a book section but that was the old software and when I switched over, we all decided that we could ditch it. I think it had like 10 threads in 5 years. The comic book and anime section is really Vizzy's. Something Dylan got confused with tech info at times ![]() I can add one but I don't know how much use it will get. :\ I never heard of Vince Flynn. I'll look him up but in the meantime, what type of stuff does he write? RE: Vince Flynn - Jamminitin - 03-22-2011 You don't need to add one, I can use this section. He does intelligence and intrigue. All the stuff we are talking about with the pres. reminded me. It is a series of books so best to start with the first one. I didn't so I will eventually get them all and re-read them because I get buy at the half price bookstore and the selection is sporadic. His main character is Mitch Rapp and he is a covert agent in the CIA. Flynn has some deep sources in all areas of the gov't. I've heard him do several interviews and he said what he writes about absolutely happens, but he is writing fiction. Really good. Anyone who is interested in the gov't, high action reading will enjoy these books RE: Vince Flynn - Twitchin Kitten - 03-22-2011 That sounds like stuff I like to read. I've been doing psychological thrillers lately - Jonathan Kellerman. I also like the Cathy Reichs "Bones" series too. The Temperance Brennan in the books is much different than the character on TV. The one in the books is more akin to her real life. Do you have a list of the series in order of release? That would be a help. I also read a lot of Robert A. Heinlein (science fiction) and found a list of his stuff and realized there is plenty I haven't read! I just have to find my box of books and go through them and tick off on the list the ones I did read. RE: Vince Flynn - LKTraz - 03-23-2011 Flynn's work sounds like it is along the same lines as Tom Clancy. I'll have to check him out! RE: Vince Flynn - Jamminitin - 03-23-2011 Term Limits Transfer of Power The Third Option Separation of Power Executive Power Memorial Day Consent to Kill Acts of Treason Protect and Defend Extreme Measures Pursuit of Honor American Assassin RE: Vince Flynn - Jamminitin - 03-23-2011 I also like Michael Crighton. He is really good. RE: Vince Flynn - Twitchin Kitten - 03-23-2011 I read a couple Crighton books I think. Not sure - I read so many books I forget what ones I read! I've caught myself buying a read book two and three times! I need to make an inventory and lists to keep with me. With the Ipod touch and the laptop and smart phones, It's feasible now to carry many lists around. Outbreak is very good also. I like to have a book along with me on the truck and I read when I'm sitting at a customer's dock waiting. RE: Vince Flynn - Jamminitin - 03-23-2011 Oh I have done that more than once. I started writing a list but sheesh, I average about 1-2 books a month. At my age, well you do the math-LOL Crighton did China Sun, old but talks about our monetary relationship with China. Very eye opening. He also did one about global warming-excuse me climate change, and he went into writing the book a believer in GW. By the time he did his research for the book he was convinced it was the farce that it is. |
