My winter project - twisteroo - 03-08-2011 I got this bike off of Craigslist for 200 bucks, put just about 100 into it over the winter. Today I took it out and rode it around in the snow a little bit. It shifts perfect after a new chain, cassette, and cables. I put a minimal amount of cash into it, pulled it all apart and repacked all the bearing, new cables, brakes, bars, chain, and cassette. I swapped out some tires and pedals and stuff off of other bikes for the best fits all around. Before http://s837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/twisteroo2/K2/ After http://s837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/twisteroo2/K2%20too/ I thought I had posted pictures before but can't seem be able to find the thread. RE: My winter project - Twitchin Kitten - 03-08-2011 I think you posted about it in my bike choices thread. It's looking nice now! I'm liking it! RE: My winter project - Jamminitin - 03-08-2011 Looks like new!!! Do that with my car please!!!!!!! RE: My winter project - twisteroo - 03-08-2011 It's not too close to being new, but all the vital parts are new, everything is re-greased and oiled and stuff and it's all in good working order. Now I'm ready for some downhill action. RE: My winter project - Rhubarb - 03-08-2011 I better start making arrangments with the post-office about that motor.... No1 son wonders 'don't you need disc brakes to do that sort of down hill- like in the picture? Have you got one of those plastic suits? RE: My winter project - Twitchin Kitten - 03-08-2011 I'm with Philip - Those squeezee brakes are not going to cut it on a steep slope and high speed. RE: My winter project - twisteroo - 03-08-2011 Bah....I got new brakes, what do you think they did back in the 80's and 90's? They just went for it, maybe a little bit faster than they go for it today with good brakes, but they went for it. As far as the plastic "speed suit", I was thinking saran wrap, any thoughts? RE: My winter project - Twitchin Kitten - 03-08-2011 Saran wrap, a pubic hair underwear and long toenails.... yes! That's the optimal look for such an event. RE: My winter project - twisteroo - 03-09-2011 I'm gonna grow my hair long and wear sandals too. RE: My winter project - Twitchin Kitten - 03-09-2011 Ah, the dirty hippie look! |
