22 "Uncomfortable" Album Covers - Twitchin Kitten - 02-09-2011

I found this stumbling around today. Copied directly from the site:

These album covers are so awkward that I actually felt uncomfortable looking at them. I want to know how desperate of a record label you have to be to actually sign these people. I'm going to go wash my hands with bleach and look at pictures of airbrushed women now.

Andy Warhol once said that, at some point in their lives everyone would be famous for 15 mins.

But those covers are really awesomely awful - so bad they're funny. But they all appear to be covers of vinyl albums from somewheres in the 70s. A time when record companies were actually prepared to take a chance instead of shitting out manufactured "pop" bands, re-issues and electronic junk that to my mind doesn't even comply with the definition of music.

The Shags cover is really great - they should be on a TV program like "Snog, Marry, Avoid" but retitled "Avoid, Avoid, Avoid". I think the one titled "Joyce" is actually Joyce Grenfell. She was pretty cool in her own way and did some very funny material back in the days.

I'm kinda digging the Braillettes! They remind me of a couple of places I occasionally work at. The Association for the Multiple Impaired Blind (AMIB, as they call themselves). They're homes for blind, retarded adults.

Jesus use me.

I've been waiting my whole life to hear that line.
