Before and after Mini Remodel - PICTURES! - Twitchin Kitten - 01-23-2011 OK while waiting on the spackle to dry, I snapped some before pics. This is the living room full of the cabinets. I am good! I got them all stuffed into one corner and the drawer shelves and doors are in the other room, with room to spare. [attachment=1608] Here is the view into the kitchen. You can see the cabinets are hung on tracks, which is what makes this whole project easy to do. We're going to paint the ceiling after I finish the spackle and then roll out the walls. You can see how much the white turned brown behind things and above where it's easy to get all greasy and full of schmutz from cooking. Having such a small space really sucks for this kind of thing. [attachment=1609] And this is the opposite side where the sliding glass door and entry way is. The door to the basement is directly opposite of the door you see. I'm going to paint both of those during the week myself I think. I have to take that plexiglass off the door and the magnetic poetry you saw on the 'fridge is now on metal boards on the basement door. Too much of a pain to take down and do today so I'll deal with those Tuesday or Wednesday. I also need another pieces of plexiglass for between the door and the counter. Bitch dog scratches there and I'm not happy. It's all spackeled now and when it's dry, I'll measure and put a piece there too. It's easier to slap some putty in screw holes than patch what I can't control when I'm out. We're figuring that we'll be putting up the cabinets tomorrow and not today. I want to get at least 3 coats on the walls this time. The black trim stays. [attachment=1610] RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Jamminitin - 01-23-2011 Can't wait to see the finished product RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Twitchin Kitten - 01-25-2011 Painting is done - except where I goofed and forgot a wall! We're getting the cabinets back up today. Lots of electrical work to get done. The wires you see sticking out of the walls is for in-cabinet outlets. One for the microwave and the other is for the under counter lights, which we need to replace completely. I was afraid the colors didn't contrast enough but looking in the natural light of day, it's nice. At night though, it all looks the same. Hopefully once everything is back up it'll show better under artificial light. [attachment=1611] [attachment=1612] RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - kbear - 01-25-2011 Like it!!!!!!!! Great color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Jamminitin - 01-25-2011 Looks good!!! I bet you'll be thrilled to get it all back together. RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Twitchin Kitten - 01-25-2011 We're getting close! The cabinets are all up, most of the stuff is put back in and I'm deciding on whether to keep some of the things downstairs. It's all coming down to a matter of "how often do I really use this thing?" Tossed a ton of SHIT out. What makes me keep stuff I have no intention of using again? Did a little rearranging of appliances and Matt made me a coffee station out of the short counter between the cook-top and the wall oven. Nice. ![]() Pictures when I get it all in place and the floor mopped. Next is replacing all those chipped and ruined tiles! Never use Future floor polish. NEVER. RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Jamminitin - 02-04-2011 Finished yet? RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Twitchin Kitten - 02-04-2011 Nope. I'm still not feeling well enough to paint that tiny bit I missed and touch up the moldings. I also need Matt to pick up a box of screws to put the bottom rail back on the cabinets. I promise pictures once I get it all back together! RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Twitchin Kitten - 02-07-2011 Well, I'm feeling a good deal better. Coughing a ton still but I'm not exhausted walking across the room. So, I went downstairs and brought up the black paint for the molding touch ups. It has to warm up to room temp overnight. I also dug up some of the blue for the trim in the rest of the house so I can do some touching up there too. Hey, why not, right? So, I'll be painting the missed spot and then do some touch up on the moldings this week. I hope Matt remembers to get the screws. I'm starting to like it without the bottom rail though! So, cross your fingers that by Friday I'll have it all done. I hate loose ends! RE: Before and after Mini Remodel - Twitchin Kitten - 02-20-2011 ![]() I'm out of paint! I got the door to the outside to do yet and I'm out of freakin' paint! I only need like 1 or two quarts and I'm done. Ugh. This is frustrating to say the least. Been touching up and finishing the spot I missed, basement door and all that and I find I don't have enough for one side of one door. ![]() |
