Hey Twitchie, a wig question for you - Twilla - 01-02-2011

Okay, so I'm watching season 3 of Damages and each season I'm completely distracted by Glenn Close's hair. They have to be sticking wigs on her but they're so well done, I'm not completely sure.

Her, naturally:

Season 2:

Season 3:

Wigs always distract me in movies or TV, I don't know what it is about it.

Definitely wigs. What they do is take some of the hair from her head and pull it through the edges of the wig and blend it in so you can't tell it's a wig. A trick I learned with them way back in beauty school.

You can also tell because her hair is thinning and it's much thicker at the hairline in the photos with wigs.

Yeah, that's what was confusing me... the hairline looks great but the back is almost too full. She looks fantastic, can you tell she's in her 60s? What a jawline!

Yeah, she looks her age in the first photo to me. If you look at that second pic you posted, that's the giveaway on the wig. The hairline on the forehead is lower, straighter and fuller where she's clearly thinning in the first one.

Leslie Stahl's wigs drive me crazy. Oh, and John Travoltas too.

I had no idea Travolta wore a rug! Now I gotta go look for that.

OK Which wig style bugs you? Is there one he favors in "real life" and not on a job?

I worked with mend hairpieces and from the quick look I googled, they were pretty nice except for one - made it look like he had hair painted on his head.

Brendan Frasier came up in the search Shock

I'm pretty sure BF got some plugs (not in that after photo, of course)... if you see some of his red carpet photos, he's got the dreaded doll head.

Travolta's been looking weird for quite a while, the last time I remember seeing him NOT in a wig was Pulp Fiction.

Have I told you ladies about my full thick head of hair lately.Loungelizard

Twilla, I mean thick hair not thick head....smartass.

I don't like his pasted on front crap. It's so drastic and you can see the webbing-so to speak.
